LIS Retain Crown in MSSWPL Swimming Tournament

Labuan International School remains the top secondary school in the MSSWPL swimming tournament by collecting 22 golds, 18 silvers, 20 bronzes and setting eight records at the two-day championship. (Picture Left: Pn. Zainab Batin, Principal of LIS)

    LIS retained their championship title at the tournament held from February 23 to 24 which featured participants from secondary schools across the island. 

    The tournament's big winner was Tan Xue Wen with eight golds, setting seven new records. Also setting a record was Tan Jie Sheng earning two golds and six silvers. Adiso Teo bagged give golds, two silvers and one bronze. Also contributing a gold for the team was Yeo Sir Yong who also won another three silvers and three bronzes. Darren Chua bagged two golds and three bronzes. 

    Meanwhile, another eight students from their swim team contributed to the team's final win by each earning their own medals. These eight include Juzee Katerina, Ivan Chua, Isaac Chua, Amirul Zaqwan, Nur Dylaina, Jewel Chieng, Dayang LIana, and Justine Tan. Their relay teams of the Under-18 and Under-15 categories both managed to scoop up two gold medals each too. 

    Tan Xue Wen was awarded Best Swimmer for the female Under-18 category while Adison Teo was named Best Swimmer for the male Under-15 class and Darren Chua was dubbed Best Diver for male Under-18 category. 

    On the other hand, LIS also managed to emerge overall runner-up for the primary school MSSWPL swim tournament with five golds, eight silvers, two bronzes and setting four new records this year. Jed Jayden Ng won three golds and set one new records while Nur Dylaila won one gold, seven silvers and set another two new records for the team. Jade Langshaw too bagged two bronze medals. The Under-12 female relay team also set a new records and earned a gold medal while their male relay team won a silver. 

       

LIS Swimming Coach, Clement David Leong, received the trophy of Secondary School Overall Champion.
