2016 Chinese New Year Celebration

Published Date : 04-Sep-2016

Chinese New Year is a time of celebration and reunion for LIS family: students, teachers and parents gathered together for a dinner.  This year, Labuan International School is organising a CNY Celebration Dinner. It was a fund-raising event in which dinner tickets were sold  in order to raise funds for the STUDENTS ACTIVITIES FUND and NATIONAL CANCER COUNCIL MALAYSIA (MAKNA).

This celebration began with classrooms decoration and “Tang Long” lantern-making competition in which students were challenged to foster teamwork and creative thoughts.  As for the younger students, they were challenged with beautiful and elegant CHEONG SAM & SAM FU traditional wear.  Of course, the parents were also invited to participate in Calligraphy and Guessing Mandarin Oranges Contests.

This celebration would not be completed without students’ performances.  Performances and talent were displayed by our students from Reception, Primary and Secondary. Our school LION DANCE team also played an important part in making this event successful.

The celebration was ended with beautiful Fireworks.
